The customer turned out to be an elderly diabetic woman who lived alone. Gao first drove to her home to get the prescription paper, and then rushed to the hospital to fetch the insulin she needed.

He lingered a bit after fulfilling his mission. When he found that the woman hadn't eaten, he not only helped cook a bowl of noodles with two boiled eggs but took out the trash.

As a fan of Kuaishou, a video-sharing platform, Gao likes to record his daily life.

"I think the reason Time picked me is that I helped an elderly person in need. Although it is a warm story, I'm no different when dealing with anyone else. I just wish my tiny bit can show the Western world the strong cohesion of China," he says in the video.
