Google unveils plan on WebTV

SAN FRANCISCO -- Google Inc. on Thursday unveiled its WebTV plan "Google TV," a search technology vowed to provide an easy and fast way to navigate to TV channels, websites and apps all on televisions.

The Mountain View, California-based company introduced the plan during a conference for some 5,000 software programmers in San Francisco.

According to its press release, Google will cooperate with Sony and Logitech to put Google TV inside of televisions, Blu-ray players and companion boxes. The device will include Goolge software including Android and Chrome Web browser, a Sony TV with an Intel microprocessor and a special remote control and wireless keyboard from Logitech.

The new product will go on sale this fall and will be available at BestBuy stores nationwide in the United States, it said.
