Lu Wei, former deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, has been placed under investigation for suspected severe disciplinary violations, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection — the country's top anti-graft watchdog — announced on its website on Tuesday night.
It did not provide details.
Lu, 57, was the former head of the Cyberspace Administration.
He became deputy head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee in 2014.
