SKOPJE - North Macedonia is committed to build a strong economy offering chances for all and a just society with equal opportunities, the country's Prime Minister Zoran Zaev declared here on Saturday, the press release of the government said.

Zaev made this declaration while attending the welcoming event for representatives of the Dutch-Belgian Constituency of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) that pay a three-day visit to North Macedonia.

The Dutch-Belgian Constituency has the total of 15 members. Constituency meetings are held every year in one of the members. The three-day visit of the Dutch-Belgian Constituency representatives will end on Sunday.

According to Zaev, in the past two years the country focused on solving major political issues that paved the way to guaranteed NATO membership and the opening of European Union (EU) negotiations by the end of the year, as well as made efforts to stabilize the economy by implementing sound economic and fiscal policies.

"This is the path our country is treading, the path of just and fair chances for all," said Zaev.

Moreover, Zaev declared that the government managed to fast-track the country's economy.

Zaev noted that the government focused on human capital, especially in children and youth to make sure the economy has long-term perspective for development.

Speaking about the relations of North Macedonia with IMF and WB, Zaev said that the WB has financed 64 projects in the country, estimated at more than 2 billion U.S. dollars.

Present at the meeting, Cyril Muller, World Bank's Vice President for Europe and Central Asia declared that all the members of the Dutch-Belgian Constituency would register an economic growth higher than the regional average with North Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina registering the highest progress.

Participants in the meeting will discuss ways to establish a fair system for all and topics such as income inequality and the factors that affect the trend and its consequences on economic growth.
