Two more titles on hands, Wang Jianjiahe snatches four golds at China swimming meet
ANSHAN, China - The 17-year-old Wang Jianjiahe swept two more victories in the women's 200m and 1500m freestyle on Sunday as she collected four gold medals in total so far at the Chinese Autumn Swimming Championships.
Wang, 1500m freestyle bronze medalist in Gwangju World Swimming Championships, dominated the 200m distance in a time of one minute 58.24 seconds. One hour later, she claimed gold in the 1500m final in 16:19.71.
It was the third meet that Wang competed in two months after the FINA swimming worlds and China's 2nd Youth Games.
Four Zhejiang girls, all under 20, ruled the women's 200m individual medley as the 14-year-old Yu Yiting was the fastest 2:12.69, 16-year-old Yan Xin came to second 2:14.99, 15-year-old Qian Xinan third 2:15.99 and 14-year-old Yin Jiahe 2:16.49.
In the men's 200m butterfly, Yu Yingbiao from Chinese Army won in 1:57.97 and team Zhejiang placed the top position in men's 4x200m freestyle relay 7:20.63.
Held from September 4 to 12, the championship is considered a rehearsal for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games with morning final competition format.
A total of 522 swimmers took part in the meet, with 278 male and 244 female participants from 25 teams.
