A four-minute video clip called "We are all fighters" in English showing the Chinese people's brave battle against the novel coronavirus, accompanied by a woman's voice-over, has become popular on the internet for its touching imagery and the eloquence of the woman's heart-warming narration.

The narrator, Liu Jie - from Shenzhen, Guangdong province - made the video at home in a bid to boost the nation's confidence in defeating the virus, and to let the world feel the country's resolve and unyielding spirit.

"To make the largely black-and-white video into a colorful one in the end conveys my confidence and inspires people to keep up their spirits," Liu said.

The popularity of her first home-made video clip surpassed her expectations, and her English she learned on her own.

Liu majored in Japanese at Central China Normal University in Wuhan, Hubei province, which further explains her special emotional attachment to the epicenter city that has been on lockdown for more than a month to hopefully contain the virus within it, and

Liu likes public speaking and has given speeches in English at international forums and meetings. Her daily work is also directly related to cross-cultural communication.

She said that she can feel the world's misunderstanding of China. "The reason that I chose to use English in the video is because the virus does not know borders as it is a common challenge to human beings," Liu said, "We need to have our own voices heard at this special time."

Some foreigners contacted her after watching the video to express their support.

"Some of them have never been to China, and some have lived in China for a long time. But I can feel their shared love of the country," Liu said.

A netizen from Belgium who said he founded a charity in China invited her to take part in his project after watching her "masterpiece", Liu said.

"To my surprise, many young people born after 2000, and some senior citizens in their 60s and 70s like it," Liu said.

It means the video clip has resonated with people, she said. "Despite the epidemic, and the paralysis of the city, we as a brave nation will by no means be defeated."
