No Taiwan students blocked from transferring to the island universities
A Chinese mainland spokesperson on Monday denied remarks from Taiwan that mainland universities have obstructed students from Taiwan who study in mainland universities from transferring to the island universities.
The island authority claimed recently that mainland universities put obstacles on some Taiwan students who study on the mainland but want to transfer to the island universities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Zhu Fenglian, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said mainland universities haven't received any transfer applications from Taiwan students.
"We attach great importance to the health, study and life of Taiwan students as always," Zhu said, adding that none of them have been infected of the virus.
The epidemic on the mainland has been under control after great efforts, she said.
