Performance brings murals in Mogao Caves to life

Dance performance *Ancient Sound of Dunhuang* revives the musical and dance scenes depicted in the murals of the Mogao Caves and offers an immersive experience for the audience to touch the charm of the UNESCO World Heritage site. [Photo provided to China Daily]

By following the footsteps of the young man, surnamed Bai, who was staying at Dunhuang to seek musical inspiration from the profound mural art, the audience either walk through, stand or sit while exploring the immersive performance spaces.

The venue is part of a homonymous cultural tourism industry complex that combines immersive performing arts as well as cultural and creative products to boost the tourist economy.
