The air is thick with anticipation as a group of Polish students steps into the historic Tanggangzi Hot Springs of Anshan, Liaoning province. The warm, mineral-dense waters promise relaxation and a deep dive into a centuries-old culture.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Poland. In honor of this milestone, the Publicity Department of the CPC Anshan Municipal Committee and Anshan Normal University have launched an initiative to deepen cultural exchanges and foster mutual understanding.

"Our aim is to expand the international influence of Chinese culture, share the stories of Anshan, and amplify the voice of Liaoning," says an organizer of this event.

Tanggangzi Hot Springs, a national 4A-level scenic area, is renowned for its rich history and cultural significance. Its origins date back to the 18th year of the Zhenguan era in the Tang Dynasty (618-907) when Li Shimin, known as Emperor Taizong, bathed here.

Tanggangzi is celebrated alongside Beijing's Xiaotangshan, Nanjing's Tangshan Hot Springs, and Lintangtou Hot Springs as one of China's four major hot springs. "Sitting in the same waters as ancient emperors is surreal," remarks Dziubinska Aleksandra, a student from the University of Warsaw.

The highlight of the visit is a hands-on experience with therapeutic mud baths and hot spring soaks. "This is my first time in Liaoning experiencing hot springs. It's fascinating and novel, and I'm grateful for the warm hospitality of Liaoning," says Krol Piotr, another student from the University of Warsaw.

The students listen attentively as guides explain the history of Tanggangzi Hot Springs and the formation of its renowned thermal mud.

"This cultural exchange event is a priceless learning opportunity for students," says Li Qian, the lead teacher. "By experiencing it firsthand, they not only gain a better understanding of Chinese culture and history but also feel the warmth and friendliness of the Chinese people. This will greatly benefit their future studies and career development."
