Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs sees new head appointed

Han Jun has been appointed head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, according to a decision adopted by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature, on Friday.
The decision was announced when the NPC Standing Committee wrapped up its latest session in Beijing.
Public information shows that Han, 60, a native of Shandong province, started his career in 1989. He has worked in China's agricultural system for decades.
In late 2020, he became deputy governor of Jilin province. Early 2021, he was named as the provincial governor. In March 2023, he was appointed Party secretary of Anhui province.
In June this year, he became the Party secretary of the ministry.
