Inspection teams have been dispatched to six provinces and regions to assess the implementation of key legal reforms, the Office of the Commission for Overall Law-Based Governance of the Communist Party of China Central Committee said on Sunday.

Starting on Sunday, the seven-day on-site inspection will cover the provinces of Anhui, Hunan, Sichuan, Gansu, the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and the Ningxia Hui autonomous region. This marked the first comprehensive law enforcement inspection since the 20th CPC National Congress in 2022.

The focus of this inspection is on the performance of leading cadres in fulfilling their respective duties, the implementation of the planning and outline of the rule of law construction, and the building of a legalized business environment.

It aimed to ensure the full implementation of major decisions of the CPC Central Committee on law-based governance and ensure that Party and government leaders at all levels fulfill their primary responsibility for promoting the rule of law and become models of respecting, learning, and adhering to the law. The operation also seeks to ensure the lawful protection of citizens' legitimate rights and interests while advancing reforms in the legal sector.

The inspection teams are led by current ministerial-level officials from relevant departments of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, with participation from experts, scholars, deputies from the National People's Congress, and members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
