#Unit 731, the notorious germ-warfare detachment of the Japanese Imperial Army during World War II, committed horrific atrocities. They conducted gas and frostbite experiments on live human subjects and dissected still-warm bodies to develop biological weapons. The Exhibition Hall of Evidences of Crimes Committed by Unit 731 of the Japanese Imperial Army, a museum in Harbin, Heilongjiang province, exhibits the evidence of these crimes. They were perpetrated on over 3,000 victims including Chinese, Korean, Mongolian and Soviet prisoners of war, who were referred to as "Maruta" ("log").
