The Workshop on Enhancing E-commerce and Digital Economy Capacity of Women Entrepreneurs from Developing Countries was held in Yiwu, a county-level city in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, on Sept 23.

Thirty-one women entrepreneurs from 12 developing countries attended the event, exploring China's digital trade development and seeking new opportunities for international cooperation.

The workshop was jointly organized by the Academy for International Business Officials under the Ministry of Commerce, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, the Global Exchange and Cooperation Center for Digital Empowerment of Women, and the Zhejiang Provincial Women's Federation.

Participants visited Cujia Holding Group, a cross-border e-commerce company in Yiwu, to learn about its operations and innovative achievements in the field.

They also toured the Yiwu International Trade Market, where they gained insights into core business models and global expansion trends. The market's digitalization and internationalization left a deep impression on the attendees.

At the exchange meeting, Pan Xiu'er, vice-president of Jinhua Women's Federation, shared government initiatives to support women's entrepreneurship through policies and platforms. Luo Xi, deputy director of the Yiwu Industrial Development Promotion Center, highlighted Yiwu's business environment advantages and its openness to global markets.

Yiwu-based women entrepreneurs, such as He Lihong and Liu Wei, shared their experiences in cross-border e-commerce and brand globalization, which resonated with participants.

Aissata Diakite from Mali and Sammu Upeka Tharindi Thilini Mali from Sri Lanka introduced their countries' strengths in agriculture, eco-friendly manufacturing, and handicrafts, expressing their interest in utilizing Yiwu's advantages in market demand, e-commerce platforms, and logistics to build cooperative bridges and enhance the global influence of local women-led enterprises.
