Intl Biopharma Industry Week Shanghai 2025 kicks off
The International Biopharma Industry Week Shanghai 2025, themed "Global linkage, industrial empowerment", opened in Shanghai's Pudong New Area on Monday.
Featuring a series of thematic forums, achievement showcases, and investment matchmaking activities, the event will run through Friday with an aim to gather elements of innovation, industry development, regulatory empowerment, international cooperation, and financial support to create a comprehensive platform for exchange and collaboration in the biopharmaceutical industry, supporting Shanghai's goal of becoming an internationally influential hub for biopharmaceutical innovation.
In alignment with an action plan that Shanghai released in September to promote the full-chain development of the high-end medical equipment industry, three major high-end medical equipment industry clusters in the districts of Pudong, Minhang and Jiading announced the start of their construction at the opening ceremony of the event.
Shanghai's biopharmaceutical industry has seen continuous growth in recent years. In the first half of this year, the industry's scale surpassed 500 billion yuan ($70 billion), with expectations to exceed the trillion-yuan mark by the end of the year.
