The 2025 Forum on the Development of Xizang, China was held in Nyingchi, Xizang autonomous region from Oct 27 to 30, drawing widespread attention and participation.

With themes spanning international communication, plateau industries, environmental protection, and youth engagement, the forum put forth a vibrant, inclusive, and forward-looking image of Xizang.

Participants praised the forum for showcasing an open, inclusive, and vibrant new Xizang. Many said the discussions and proposals offered valuable guidance for long-term stability and prosperity.

In Ngari prefecture, local authorities pledged to turn the forum's vision into ecological action through afforestation, pollution reduction, and biodiversity protection. "We will transform the wisdom shared at the forum into practical steps to safeguard the plateau's environment," said Li Xiaobing, head of the prefecture's ecology and environment bureau.

Tibetan medicine also gained global recognition. A doctor from Bomi county expressed pride in foreign guests' praise for traditional therapies, noting the forum's role in boosting awareness and acceptance of Tibetan medical heritage.

From institutional reforms in Lhokha to new housing projects in Shigatse, officials and villagers alike said the forum reflected real progress in people's lives.
