Rail operators ensure coal for winter heating
As cold weather arrived earlier than expected, Chinese railway operators are paying special attention to heating supply for households. In response to the extremely cold weather this year, Taiyuan North Station in Shanxi province has strengthened its daily operations, ensuring daily average running of nearly 300 vehicles transporting some 14,000 metric tons of thermal coal. This can guarantee thermal heating or power supply to an area of 35.54 million square meters. Xiangyangdian Station has also ensured timely unloading of heavy-haul trains carrying thermal coal upon arrival.
