Xinjiang sees record cotton output in 2025
Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region has recorded a record cotton output of over 6 million metric tons in 2025, official data showed. The region produced 6.165 million tons of cotton this year, accounting for 92.8 percent of the national total, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
Mainland shares show decent performance
Chinese mainland stocks closed mixed on Tuesday. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index ended flat at 3965.12 points. The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.49 percent higher at 13604.07 points.
