A newly bred yellow rose variety, "Wenxiu", in honor of Huang Wenxiu who died in the line of duty in 2019, was sent from Kunming in Yunnan province to Baise in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, symbolizing the continuation of her legacy of grassroots dedication.
A ceremony in Kunming marked the rose's official naming, with its meaning — "passionate and selfless dedication" — reflecting Huang's commitment to rural service. Huang, who served as Party secretary of Baini village of Baise, died in 2019 at the age of 30 after being caught in a flash flood while returning to work. She was later honored nationally as a role model.
