Elliot Maldonado, an American working for the China Daily Website, highlighted the province's natural beauty and ecological protection.
"When I think of Guizhou, I think of the color green," he said. "As we rode a boat down the Wujiang River, you could feel this was a place largely undisturbed by human progress. Such a fragile ecosystem needs to be preserved, and that's exactly what Guizhou has done."
