The University of Wah has announced the launch of a China-Pakistan Joint Laboratory to advance research in new energy technologies. The facility marks a major step in bilateral academic collaboration.

Formally established on April 6, 2026, the “Wuhan City (China-Pakistan) Joint Laboratory for Extreme-Environment New Energy Storage and Grid Connection Technology” is a partnership with the School of New Energy and Electrical Engineering at Hubei University in Wuhan, China.

“This initiative strengthens academic and research ties between Pakistan and China,” the statement said. It also aims to foster innovation in advanced energy technologies while addressing global energy challenges, especially in extreme environments.

The lab will focus on key areas, including advanced photovoltaic and solar-thermal systems, high-performance energy storage batteries, and green hydrogen production technologies.

The joint laboratory is expected to promote clean energy solutions, enhance regional energy security, and encourage scientific innovation and knowledge exchange between the two countries.
