Guangdong city football league agrees raft of sponsorships
Organizers of the upcoming Guangdong City Football Super League signed sponsorship agreements with dozens of companies on Wednesday, as the province-wide tournament continues to gain growing commercial recognition from businesses.
The opening match of the league, which brings together teams from 21 cities across Guangdong province, is scheduled to take place at Yuexiushan Stadium in Guangzhou on Saturday.
As one of the premier amateur football competitions in the province, the tournament has developed a multi-level sponsorship framework, according to organizers, which encompass title sponsor, strategic partners, official sponsors, suppliers and micro-enterprise supporters.
"The league has built a clearly tiered partnership structure, bringing in leading local technology manufacturers while also opening opportunities for small and micro enterprises," said Chen Xuhui, chairman of Guangdong Sports Development Corporation, at a signing ceremony in Shenzhen on Wednesday.
Lei Jianjun, deputy director of the Guangdong Sports City League Organizing Committee, said more than 80 companies of varying sizes have joined sponsorship arrangements at the city level. He added that fan engagement has also grown rapidly, with the official ticketing mini-program attracting over 30,000 registered users on its first day of launch. As of Monday, registrations had surpassed 72,000.
