I believe that the spirit of model workers, the spirit of labor, and the spirit of craftsmanship are all about doing small things to perfection and shouldering responsibility in an ordinary post. As a tower crane driver, you need strict discipline. I always tell my team: we must achieve "man-machine unity". When you climb up that high equipment, your body is no longer your own — you become part of this giant crane. Only then can we lift loads ranging from a few kilograms to several tons safely and steadily.

In the early days of our factory, skilled workers from all over China poured into Luoyang, Henan province. With nothing but wrenches and hammers, they built the first tractor in China. In the past, our tractors had only 20 or 30 horsepower and the core technology of large horsepower was monopolized by foreign countries. But through independent R&D and market-driven product development, we now produce tractors up to 450 horsepower, suitable for mountains, hills, paddy fields, plains, orchards and other complex terrains. Our tractors are exported to over 100 countries and regions. We have truly grown from nothing into a strong agricultural machinery nation.

Through years of learning and exploration, I have come to realize that spreading and promoting the art of traditional Chinese flower arrangement, with its thousands of years of history, is my responsibility and mission. My team and I spent more than a decade collecting and studying over 300 ancient paintings of traditional flower arrangements. We examined every detail, restored over 100 pieces of court floral art, and created more than 1,000 works. With years of effort and support, in 2023, court floral arrangement was officially listed as an intangible cultural heritage item. That moment made everything worthwhile, and my entire team felt proud and honored.

For a frontline worker, serving the nation means guarding your own post. Specifically in my role, three things matter: First, keep equipment running stably — that ensures supply. For every extra hour our equipment runs, we process hundreds more tons of iron ore. Second, master the technology — that ensures self-reliance. Core technologies cannot be bought or waited for; they must be created by us frontline workers. Third, pass on experience — that ensures the future. After 30 years on the job, I think less about how many more devices I can fix, and more about passing my accumulated maintenance experience to young workers.

To be honest, frontline oil work is really tough. In summer, when we inspect pumping units, we have to climb 9 meters up to the central axle. The iron plates are scorching hot, sweat drips into my eyes from under my helmet. My work uniform gets wet, dries, and gets wet again, leaving salt stains all over my back. In winter, when we repair pipeline leaks, the frozen ground is as hard as stone. My hands can barely grip the shovel, and I often get many cracks on them. However, every time I see our pumping units running smoothly, knowing that the oil they extract is being continuously delivered to where the country needs it for development and construction, I feel that all the hardship is worth it.
