AI education service platform opens
China on Tuesday announced the launch of a global AI education service platform during the 2026 World Digital Education Conference in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, aiming to promote cross-border sharing of high-quality educational resources and further integrate AI into education. The launch comes as part of a broader upgrade to the Smart Education of China, a digital education platform now accessible in around 220 countries and regions.
Railway investment up in first four months
China's railway construction made steady progress in the first four months of 2026, with fixed-asset investment expanding 3.2 percent year-on-year. During the January-April period, fixed-asset investment in the railway sector reached 200.8 billion yuan ($29.34 billion), according to data from China State Railway Group Co Ltd.
