China and the United States should work together to implement the important consensus reached by their heads of state and inject greater stability into bilateral economic and trade cooperation as well as the world economy, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said on Friday.

Guo made the remarks at a regular press conference in response to US President Donald Trump's statement that China had agreed to purchase Boeing aircraft.

The essence of China-US economic and trade relations is mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, he said.

In response to a question on whether China had agreed to any further agricultural deals during Trump's visit, Guo said the two sides reached an important consensus on maintaining stable economic and trade relations, expanding practical cooperation in various fields and properly resolving each other's concerns and differences.

China is willing to work with the United States to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, extend cooperation on the basis of equality, respect and mutual benefit, and achieve win-win outcomes, he said.

Asked whether the two leaders discussed export controls, particularly on US semiconductors, Guo said China has stated its principled position many times on the issue of US chip exports to China.

Responding to a New York Times question on whether any new understanding had been reached between China and the US on rare earth supplies, Guo said China had already released information on the meeting between the two presidents.

China has always been committed to safeguarding the stability and security of global industrial and supply chains, he said.
