Beijing confirms China-US leaders' consensus on holding AI dialogue
Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun confirmed on Tuesday that during last week's China-US summit in Beijing, the two heads of state agreed that an intergovernmental dialogue on artificial intelligence would be carried out.
According to media reports, the leaders of China and the United States exchanged views on AI regulation during their meeting and agreed that dialogue and cooperation would be carried out.
In response, Guo said, "As two major countries in the field of artificial intelligence, China and the US should work together to promote the development and governance of AI, and ensure that AI better serves the advancement of human civilization and the common well-being of the international community."
"During President Trump's visit to China, the two heads of state engaged in constructive exchanges on AI issues and agreed that an intergovernmental dialogue on AI would be carried out," Guo said.
