The Ordos Grassland Tourist Area in Ordos city, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, welcomed 200 visitors from Singapore on May 15, marking the scenic area's first Singaporean tour group of the year.
The visitors received a grand traditional welcome upon arrival. A cavalry team riding across the grassland led the way, while performers dressed in Mongolian ethnic costumes offered guests ceremonial wine in silver bowls and presented them with blue hada scarves, a traditional symbol of hospitality, symbolizing goodwill and blessings.

Immersed in songs, local customs, and the vast grassland scenery, many visitors said the experience was unlike anything they had seen before.
"We have never experienced traditions like this in Singapore," one tourist said. "It is an honor to take part in it. The performers were highly professional and presented the traditional culture in a very authentic way."
In addition to watching performances, the tourists also took part in interactive cultural activities, including making traditional milk tea, learning Mongolian dancing, and trying their hand at archery. Many described the grassland climate and open landscape as relaxing and refreshing.
