Hitachi signs residential elevator renewal deals for Greater Bay Area
Hitachi Elevator (China) Co, an arm of Japanese electronics giant Hitachi Ltd, has signed agreements with a number of property companies and clients in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area for the renewal of old elevators in residential buildings.
The signing ceremony was held during the 17th World Elevator and Escalator Expo, which was held in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, from Wednesday to Saturday.
The exhibition, covering an area of 120,000 square meters, attracted over 1,100 domestic and overseas companies to display their latest products and technologies within the elevator industry.
China has introduced urban renewal and equipment update action plans, with replacing old elevators with new ones becoming a key initiative.
In Guangdong, local authorities have further clarified tiered subsidy standards, providing special support for the renewal of elevators in eligible old residential buildings.
Responding to the government subsidy policy, the company has established renewal experience centers in nearly 70 cities nationwide, providing residents with accessible and tangible renewal services.
The renewal plan for old elevators aims to allow more residents to live in good houses and use safe elevators, according to the company.
The company has so far provided installation solutions for old residential buildings in 324 cities nationwide and comprehensive update and renovation solutions for over 18,000 projects in 322 cities.
Addressing the challenges of difficulties in installation and replacement in old communities, Hitachi Elevator has developed various technical solutions, such as a suspension scheme for straight elevators and new machine room-less renovation products.
