Chongqing has launched a direct express line to the Red Sea, providing a major boost to its logistics capabilities.
A shipment of locally manufactured auto parts recently began its journey from Guoyuan Port in Liangjiang New Area to Nansha Port in Guangzhou utilizing the Chongqing-Guangzhou rail-sea intermodal train.
Upon arrival in Guangzhou, the cargo will transfer to the Regional Container Line's Red Sea express service.
The service simplifies the shipping process by allowing cargo to move under a single booking and through bill of lading, with containers transported directly to their final destination without repacking. Compared with traditional shipping methods, it improves logistics efficiency by 20 percent and reduces costs by 25 percent.
The Chongqing-Guangzhou rail-sea intermodal corridor also supports a wide range of regular shipments, including key cargo categories such as automobiles, cold chain goods, and timber.
