Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic explored the Museum of the Communist Party of China on Tuesday, tracing China's journey from poverty to prosperity, and pledging that Serbia would strive to match its political and economic heights.

Strolling through halls lined with historical exhibits, Vucic noted that the museum's collection of old photographs, short video clips, and digital displays showcasing technological advancement was of "utmost importance", as it illustrates both China's traditions and the progress made over the past 70 to 80 years.

He described the exhibition as proof of an economic miracle and was visibly moved by depictions of rising living standards for Chinese families.

"Hopefully one day we will reach this kind of heights, political and economic heights China has already done," Vucic said. He also voiced confidence that all agreements reached during his trip would be implemented to benefit both nations.

A particularly resonant moment came when Vucic was shown well-preserved commemorative gifts presented to China by former Serbian leaders. Vucic expressed deep appreciation, saying this made him truly feel the respect the Chinese people hold for Serbia and their profound regard for Sino-Serbian friendship.

"It shows that in international relations, regardless of a country's size, sincere friendship is what truly matters," he said.

The tour also included stops at displays highlighting bilateral cooperation milestones, such as the China-Serbia Belt and Road cooperation agreement and a photograph marking Serbia's receipt of the first shipment of Chinese COVID-19 vaccines.

The president also paused before a sample of lunar soil, which he described as precious and rare. He smiled and joked that it made him feel as if he had already been to the moon.

Before departing, Vucic signed the guestbook, in which he wrote that the "visit to the museum was a unique chance to deepen my knowledge on the development of China, under the leadership of the CPC".
