Every day, the calf joins his mother on outdoor adventures, enjoying leisurely walks, foraging in the wild, and soaking up the sun. With plenty of exercise, a balanced diet, and the attentive care of his elephant family, the calf has flourished. As of May, his weight had increased to 247 kilograms.
The Asian elephant, the largest living terrestrial mammal in Asia, has a gestation period of 18 to 22 months and typically gives birth to a single calf at a time. Calves are nursed for up to three years, and they typically weigh around 100 kilograms at birth, according to the valley.
