Thanks to a new online platform, children and their parents or guardians can now access legal information and learn self-protection measures more easily and efficiently.

Launched on Monday to coincide with International Children's Day, the platform is a collaborative youth legal education initiative by the Supreme People's Court, the Ministry of Education, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, and the All-China Women's Federation.

By searching for the "growth guard" mini-program on the WeChat social media app, users can explore various sections, including a judge's classroom, short videos, youth legal education, family guidance, self-protection education, legal awareness campaigns, and Q&A.

The Supreme People's Court emphasized that the platform aims to offer digital, intelligent, and routine legal services tailored to young people, enabling them to learn about self-protection under the rule of law more conveniently and effectively.

On the platform, for example, judges explain legal concepts and introduce laws by analyzing real-life and significant cases. Users can also explore legal issues behind social incidents, such as cyber violence and school bullying, through videos, short dramas, or micro-films. Additionally, parents can find practical advice on improving communication with their children and guiding their behavior more effectively.

The four authorities call on children and their parents to participate in interactive online Q&A sessions if encountering legal problems, as well as encourage them to learn legal and self-protection knowledge through online games on the platform.

"The healthy development of minors is vital to the nation's future and the well-being of millions of families," the Supreme People's Court said. "The platform is designed to provide authoritative and professional legal knowledge in a way that is more accessible to children, with the goal of supporting their healthy development."

The platform will also introduce richer content and integrate cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence to make the interaction more engaging, it noted, adding that these upgrades aim to further enhance the user experience and ensure that legal education for minors remains dynamic, accessible, and adaptable to the needs of young people and their families.
