Two universities in Xi'an have received approval to establish new schools.
Shaanxi Normal University has been approved to set up Szeged International College, a Sino?foreign cooperative educational institution jointly founded with the University of Szeged in Hungary.
Founded in 1581, the University of Szeged ranks first in Hungary and stands among top-tier higher education institutions in Central Europe, with three Nobel Prize laureates among its faculty and alumni.
The college was founded on the strong foundation of a joint undergraduate program in electronic information science and technology developed by the two universities. By integrating high-quality educational resources from both institutions, it further expands and deepens their bilateral cooperation.
It will offer two undergraduate and two postgraduate programs, including physics and computer science, with the goal of cultivating highly qualified international talents.
The XAUAT-UC International Science and Engineering Institute, jointly established by Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology and the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, has been approved by the Ministry of Education. It will begin recruiting students nationwide starting this year.
