On May 22, 2024, Xi visited a coastal greenway in Rizhao, Shandong province during his inspection tour, where he was briefed on the overall construction of the greenway and inspected the restored coastline.
While walking along the greenway, Xi talked with residents and tourists enjoying the seaside. Speaking with a newlywed couple, he said, "This place is a good location for wedding photos. The scenery is beautiful."
"A better environment brings a real sense of happiness to the residents," Xi said, stressing that modernization is about making people's lives better.
Xi noted that the construction of the greenway meets residents' need and is a popular project, and urged local people to work together in building and protecting their beautiful homeland.
