Chinese, Bolivian presidents discuss bilateral ties(Xinhua)
Updated: 2009-09-22 05:23 NEW YORK: Chinese President Hu Jintao met his Bolivian counterpart Evo Morales here on Monday to discuss the expansion of friendly and cooperative ties between China and Bolivia.
In recent years, China and Bolivia have boosted cooperation in political, economic, trade, cultural and other fields. The two countries set up diplomatic relations in 1985. Hu, who arrived here earlier in the day, will attend a UN climate change summit scheduled for Tuesday and will deliver a speech during the general debate of the 64th session of the UN General Assembly on Wednesday. On Thursday, the Chinese president will attend a UN Security Council summit on nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament. He is also scheduled to participate in a financial summit of the Group of 20 in Pittsburgh on September 24-25. Europe views itself as the world leader and wants to limit climate change to 2 C above pre-industrial levels by 2050. It has pledged to cut carbon emissions by 20 percent by 2020, and to raise this to 30 percent if there is agreement at Copenhagen.
In the past few years while adhering to the Scientific Outlook on Development Hu promotes, China has been working towards rigorous targets - which it had set for itself - to promote clean energy, push for energy efficiency and cut greenhouse emissions.
I hope China will categorically outline her stance on vital international issues. I would be totally disappointed if deliberations after this UN summits turn out to be "the same old wine in old cups."

G20 summit should keep global recovery continuing
