First State-owned enterprise: State Grid Corp of China (SGCC) issued its CSR report on March 10, 2006, when said its efforts in 12 areas range from environmental protection to charitable work and protecting shareholder interests. Premier Wen Jiabao has noted his appreciation of SGCC's efforts in building CSR.

First private enterprise: Xizi United Holding Corp was the first private enterprise to release a CSR report when it did so on February 1. The company manufactures elevators, boilers, fork lifts and has interests in property and finance. Its report highlights protection of employee rights and interests, as well as community philanthropy.

First certified enterprise: China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company (COSCO), the nation's largest international shipping company, was the first domestic company to receive a CSR certificate from Det Norske Veritas, while its report published on December 20, 2006 included an external audit.

First corporate citizen report: On August 28, 2006 Shengyang Water Supply Corp was the first Chinese enterprise to issue a corporate citizen report, which was audited and approved by the China Corporate Citizen Commission.

First listed company: Shanghai-listed Xi'an Jiefang Group Co Ltd released its CSR report on March 31, the first by a public company. It highlighted its efforts in self-discipline, corporate governance, business credibility and transparency.
