Bride stabbed to death in wedding day suicide pact

A man stabbed his new bride to death as part of a suicide pact because their parents did not approve of the marriage.

Liang and his 20-year-old girlfriend had wed in private at a hotel in Dehui, Jilin province, on Monday before they decided to take their lives. He then stabbed his wife before turning the knife on himself. But Liang panicked and called the police for help.

When rescue teams arrived they found the girl dead and Liang in a critical condition. He was this week recovering in hospital, while police are investigating the case.
