Chinese VP, Estonian PM meet on bilateral ties

TALLINN: Visiting Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Dejiang?on Monday held talks with Estonian Prime Minister Andrus Ansip on relations between their two countries.

Expressing satisfaction with the smooth development of China-Estonia relations since the establishment of diplomatic ties 18 years ago, Zhang said China appreciated Estonia's stand on the one-China policy and hoped to further promote bilateral ties through his visit.
China highly values the friendly cooperative relations with Estonia and is ready to make joint efforts with the Estonian side to promote cooperation in transportation, infrastructure building and tourism, and broaden cultural and scientific exchanges, Zhang said.
Ansip congratulated China on the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and on what the Chinese people had achieved since the reform and opening-up policies were adopted over 30 years ago. He also spoke highly of the success of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
Ansip stressed that Estonia would continue adhering to the one-China policy and enhance friendly ties between the two countries.
Ansip welcomed Chinese entrepreneurs to invest in Estonia and expressed the hope for more effective trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
After their meeting, Zhang and Ansip attended the signing ceremony of the agreements on bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
Estonia is the last leg of Zhang's European tour, which has also taken him to Ukraine and Albania.
