Chrysler to recall 1,809 Wrangler vehicles in China

BEIJING：China's quality watchdog said Tuesday that Chrysler Group China Sales Ltd. will recall 1,809 Wrangler 3.8L and Wrangler Unlimited 3.8L vehicles with a potential safety problem in the gear-box on the Chinese mainland as of February10.
The recall is due to a designing defect in the gear-box, and involves vehicles which were produced between March. 3, 2006 and July. 10, 2008, said the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (GAQSIQ).

The company has received two complaints relating to this problem in China this year.
The manufacturer will add the reminding function by upgrading the operation software for free.
The GAQSIQ said it would follow up the recall and evaluate on the effects after the remedial measures were taken.
