BEIJING - Chinese Premier Li Keqiang met with newly appointed ambassadors to China on Tuesday, stressing the country's willingness to open up further.

"China is deepening comprehensive reforms and opening-up. China's development has brought development opportunities and markets for the world," Li told ambassadors representing 31 countries ahead of the National Day that falls on Oct. 1.

Among the group was former US Senator Max Bauccus who was appointed ambassador to China earlier this year.

Liberia, Ghana, Hungary and Chile were also among the 31 countries with new ambassadors who attended the meeting.

Li said China will adhere to a peaceful development path and continue its commitment to maintaining good relations with neighbors, as well as world peace and stability.

China is willing to strengthen cooperation with other countries to achieve common development, the premier said, voicing hope the foreign envoys will play an active role in bettering understanding and cooperation between China and the world.

Diplomats spoke positively of China's role in maintaining global peace and stability, promoting world economic growth and cooperating with other countries in addressing global challenges. They emphasized their countries' willingness to deepen cooperation with China.

The new envoys were invited to attend the National Day reception after the meeting.
