Pyongyang says it's making effort to ease tension, safeguard peace

PYONGYANG, Democratic People's Republic of Korea - The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) wishes for an early improvement of relations with the Republic of Korea (ROK), the DPRK's Rodong Sinmun newspaper said on Friday.

Peace and common prosperity on the Korean Peninsula are both the common will of all Koreans and the trend of the times, the official newspaper said, adding that the DPRK is taking on an active effort to ease the tension and safeguard peace on the peninsula.
