1924: The sales department of Mercedes Automotive China Agency for Mercedes cars is established in Shanghai.

1936-1939: More than 2,800 Mercedes-Benz trucks are manufactured in Shanghai and Hong Kong. In addition, the first bus chassis are delivered to China roughly at the end of the following decade.

1956: A joint venture is established for selling Mercedes-Benz cars in China between German Otto Wolff Automotive Ltd and a local partner in Hong Kong.
