Firms in Africa and even Germany get boost from lending

The China Development Bank has followed the Chinese government's call to help development in Africa with investment in and financing for SMEs, according to an official with the bank.

China dealt out a total of $1.03 billion in special purpose loans to SMEs in 24 African countries by the end of 2013, according to government statistics.
