Scientists test solutions for old caves

To prevent Beijing's Ancient Cliff Residential Area, the largest group of
such dwellings in China, from erosion, scientists are experimenting with three
liquid solutions to determine the most effective one, reports Beijing Morning
Post.
The Beijing Ancient Cliff Residential Area includes more than 200 cave homes
dug into cliffs thousands of years ago. Due to climatic changes and
environmental pollution, some of the caves have begun to erode.
The three different chemical solutions were developed by local scientists
familiar with the environmental conditions affecting the
caves.
