Hong Kong stocks plunged 420.14 points, or 1.86 percent, to close at 22,169.59 on Tuesday.
Turnover moved down to HK$73.56 billion ($9.50 billion) from Friday's HK$76.00 billion.
Hong Kong stocks closed on Monday due to public holiday.
