報(bào)道中的snap（突然的）更強(qiáng)調(diào)事件的"突發(fā)性"，a snap general
election意思是"倉(cāng)促的大選"，與他信所做決定的"突然；急促"相契合。Snap在這里是形容詞形式，相當(dāng)于sudden（突然的），如：It's
risky to make snap judgments（倉(cāng)促做出判斷是危險(xiǎn)的）。
日常，我們習(xí)慣用snap的動(dòng)詞形式，意味"to break suddenly and sharply off or in two
parts"（突然中斷；斷成兩截），舉個(gè)例子：He snapped the chocolate in
half（她把巧克力一掰兩半）。因?yàn)閟nap本身強(qiáng)調(diào)動(dòng)作的"短促"性，我們可以得到其它與之相關(guān)的引申義：The journalist snapped
