The Ponte Vecchio in Florence is very picturesque 風(fēng)景如畫(huà)的。 The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco is big and cheerful（看上去）令人愉快的。

Bridges connect 連接 people and places. So who or what did people in London want to connect? Mostly their bed and their fridge 冰箱！But at least one person wanted to build 建造 a bridge to let the people of the world move freely 自由游走世界各地。
