Life is swell for pregnant Michelle Reis

Former beauty queen Michelle Reis turned up at a Hong Kong event this week 10 kg heavier, confirming to the world she is pregnant. She is expected to deliver a baby boy in January by Cesarean section.

Reis, who married business tycoon Julian Hui two years ago, told reporters her stomach was so big she couldn't see her feet anymore. She then inadvertently let slip she was going to have a boy when she said the child would be able to wear her cousin's clothes.

"Infant clothes are usually androgynous colors like yellow, blue and white. As long as they don't wear pink, that's fine," Sina.com quoted her as saying. Michelle added she planned to have the birth filmed.

Originally, the Hong Kong beauty pageant winner was reportedly not keen on the idea of having kids because they wouldn't fit in with her jet-set lifestyle. Her parents-in-law, however, had different ideas and managed to convince Michelle that kids are good.

It doesn't look like Hebe, of the girl group S.H.E. is going to have a baby anytime soon, according to a chorus of media reports in Taiwan. The singer released a solo album last month, and the hit song Love has been seized upon as evidence of her sexual orientation.

The lyrics - "I love you, you love her, she loves her, she loves him, you love me, I love him" - are being offered up as evidence of her supposed affections for same-sex sex ("she loves her"). Although it would be more accurate to say that, if true, it was evidence of bisexuality, since there is also the line "I love him", or even narcissism ("you love me").

Some reporters have also claimed the fact Hebe sang the Katty Perry song I Kiss A Girl at three recent concerts was a coming-out-of-the-closet statement.

Hebe has denied the lyrics or choice of song have anything to do with her sex life. But Southern Metropolis Daily is saying the singer has never been seen out with a guy but does seem to be "closer than close" to Jone Chung, gay icon A-mei's manager.

The era of major mainland movie stars has arrived, according to heartthrob Chen Kun, who won the Lead Actor Award at the 19th Golden Rooster Hundred Flowers Film Festival on the weekend.

He said the country's prosperity and the maturity of a host of actors and actresses, including Vicky Zhao and Zhou Xun, has allowed them to come to the fore.

"The blockbusters of recent years have basically featured me or them," the humble Chen said.

"The first thing is age. Now is the time when I have both maturity and passion. I also have more choices in terms of characterization," Chen said.

Finally, Wakin Chau has let slip that "la-la-la" is one of the secrets of his success. The celebrated Hong Kong singer told TV host Li Jing on the show Very Quiet Distance that if he forgets the lyrics to songs (which he often does) he just stays expressive, follows the beat and sings "la-la-la". Apparently, his fans don't really notice.

"When I get excited, the lyrics just slip away," he admitted.
