Armani dropped as England chooses M&S to be its team tailor

Better not tell their wives and girlfriends, but from now on the England
football team will be dressed by Marks & Spencer.
The store has
ousted the WAGs' favourite, Giorgio Armani, to become the 'official tailor' to
the national team.
For the next three years, footballers picked to play for their country will be kitted out in M&S suits by designer Timothy Everest.
The ￡2,000 Armani outfits for last year's World Cup in Germany included a navy blue suit, white shirt and a light blue tie.

Players even received cufflinks personalised with their squad number.
By contrast, the M&S versions will be rather more modest.
Their navy suit jacket is ￡150, while the trousers are ￡99. For traditionalists, there will even be a waistcoat at ￡39.50.
The M&S white shirt is ￡39,50, while the tie is ￡19.50 and the shoes, designed by Jeffery West, are ￡59.50.
For anyone wanting a full replica suit, the total price works out at ￡407.
Everest, who is regarded as one of Britain's leading designers, has worked with M&S for seven years. The three-year agreement with the Football Association runs until the end of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
For the first time, it will include all other representative sides competing in major international tournaments.
As a result, M&S will be dressing the men's under-21 side and the England women's team.
England captain John Terry said the players had been involved in the choice of the high street store.
"We are extremely pleased with the outcome, as well as the look and feel of the suits we will be wearing," he said.
