Petrol China, Jilin Company, was the largest chemical industrial base during the first Five-Year Plan in China. It was constructed in 1957 and was the place where the first bucket of dye, chemical fertilizers and carbide were created.

Nearly 800 scientific achievements have since been developed, and more than 60,000 chemical talents were cultivated here.

To date, the company can process 10 million tons of crude oil and produce 850,000 tons of ethylene per year. Approximately 115 kinds of petrochemical products, including gasoline, aviation kerosene, polyethylene and fuel ethanol are also mass produced with the 74 types of equipment in its factory.
