Kazakhstan is a crucial participating country for China to carry out the "Belt and Road" initiative and also push forward its capacity cooperation drive. The year of 2017 marks the 25th anniversary of the diplomatic ties between the two countries.At the same time, it is also the year of Chinese tourism. State leaders on both sides have declared their consensus about China's support for Kazakhstan's hosting the Expo on many occasions. China’s impressive participation in this event can be seen as an essential measure to live up to the consensus on its part.

China, as the world's second largest economy and largest energy producer and consumer, will take the Expo as a platform so as to display its advanced technologies and extensive experiences in energy utilization and sustainable development, promote what it has achieved in and contributed to the energy filed, and exchange its experience with Kazakhstan and other participating countries.

China submitted the letter of confirmation for the participation of Astana Expo 2017 on Augest 24, 2015.

The Organizing Committee of China Pavilion was set up and the first meeting was held on March 1, 2016.

The main structure of China Pavilion was completed on April 25, 2017.
